A native of Greenville, NC, and a lifelong resident of North Carolina, Robby’s interest in property insurance law was sparked by witnessing the devastating effects of catastrophic hurricanes firsthand. His passion for representing policyholders, including homeowners’ associations and commercial property owners, in insurance claim disputes following catastrophic losses is driven by his personal experiences and deep understanding of the challenges faced by those affected by such events.

He has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Lawyers in America, in addition to being named to Super Lawyers. He has also been inducted into the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, for repeatedly winning large awards for his clients.

He takes the initiative to hire professional engineers and contractors to accurately assess and document the extent of damage, aiming to secure fair compensation from insurance companies.

Insurance Coverage Litigation: In situations where insurance companies refuse to honor documented and submitted claims, Robby is prepared to take legal action. His experience in litigating insurance coverage disputes equips him to effectively represent clients’ interests in court, ensuring they receive the coverage they are entitled to.

Addressing Bad Faith and Unfair Claims Practices: Robby is adept at handling cases involving bad faith and unfair claims practices. Under the North Carolina Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, he can pursue “treble damages” for clients – potentially three times the amount of damages caused by an insurer’s unfair or deceptive actions.
